perverse and obstinate

perverse and obstinate
In Sheridan’s The School for Scandal Sir Peter Teazle says to a young girl: ‘Go, perverse and obstinate.’ He adds: ‘but take care, madam.’ An expression such as this when used vocatively is normally followed by a head-word, such as ‘girl’, ‘one’, or a first name.
